In this Jello no-bake cheesecake review, we’ll look at the flavor and texture of this mix to see if it can truly hold up to the real thing.
Jello No Bake Cheesecake Review – What Is This Product
Jell-O released a delicious range of no-bake cheesecake pre-mixed kits. the kits include dry mixes for the crust, filling, and sauces (if the product has any).
The flavors that were released include Classic Cheesecake, Strawberry Cheesecake, Cherry Cheesecake, and Double Chocolate Cheesecake.
But, are these cheesecakes actually good? Are they anything like real cheesecakes? And how convenient are they really?
In this Jello no-bake cheesecake review, we will be looking specifically at the texture, consistency, and flavor of the final made product. We will only review the Classic Cheesecake kit today. But hopefully, if it’s good, you can expect similar results from the others.
Review of the texture and flavor
For the flavor of this premix, you cannot really expect anything other than an authentic cheesecake flavor. While they don’t use real cream cheese (or even dehydrated cream cheese), the artificial flavorings still do a pretty good job of fooling the senses.
We were pleasantly surprised when we couldn’t say which is real and fake between this Jello cheesecake and a real no-bake recipe.
The texture on the other hand really surprised us. We weren’t expecting a rich, creamy, and thick filling. But, we were shocked by how good it actually was.
What the filling lacked most in texture was the creaminess and thickness of beaten cream cheese. Other than that, the final consistency (once it was set) was luscious like you cannot believe.
When it comes to the crust, there isn’t really much they could do wrong considering the premix basically just consists of crushed crackers. You add two out of the three needed cheesecake crust ingredients.
Nevertheless, it was still crunchy and had a good rich flavor to it. There were also more than enough crumbs to make a reasonably thick crust layer.

Expert Tips And Tricks
- Because you are using an easy premix, you can make and shape the components (crust and filling) in any way that you’d like. You can make individual cheesecakes, cheesecake bars, and bite-sized mini cheesecake cups.
- You can use more or less sugar in the crust recipe if you’d like. Or, completely substitute it with a low-calorie of natural sugar alternative.
- If you’d like, you can also swap out the milk with a plant-based milk alternative. It won’t make the cheesecake vegan, but it can change the flavor a little.

FAQs
Is jello cheesecake real cheesecake?
This isn't a real cheesecake recipe, but it could fool a few people. The product consists of two dry premixes; a cheesecake-flavored filling and a crust mix. All you need to do is rehydrate each dry premix so they can combine. The cheesecake flavor comes from artificial flavorings. And, the thickening properties also come from artificial additives.
Which is better; baked or no-bake cheesecake?
One isn't really better than the other. Both have their own sets of pros and cons. And, both have very different textures and flavors. So, at the end of the day, it comes down to what you prefer. No bake cheesecakes are easier to make, quicker, and generally more creamy. Baked cheesecakes are more flavorful, last longer, and are a more stable product.
How long does Jello No-Bake Cheesecake last in the fridge?
If you properly store your Jello no-bake cheesecake, it will last in the fridge for up to 7 days. But remember, the older it gets the more moisture and flavor it loses. So, always try to use a no-bake cheesecake within 3 days of making it.
What does gelatin do for cheesecake?
Not all cheesecake recipes need gelatin. It is only really the recipes that don't contain a ton of cream cheese or eggs. The gelatin helps set the cheesecake. It makes its texture firm and prevents it from being runny. But, if you add too much gelatin to a no-bake cheesecake recipe, it could make it dense and rubbery.
